Artifact: Online Course Design
Course: MEDT 7472
Semester: Summer 2009
Conceptual Framework Reflection: This assignment definitely requires one to be proactive in terms of removing barriers. Although, some new barriers arise in an online format, many are removed, such as needing a physical building and required face-to-face contact. The online environment allows people to participate in classes that otherwise might be inaccessible to them. They could be across the country, work a full time job, or anything that would impede upon their ability to attend a traditional course setting.
Artifact: Web Quest
Course: MEDT 6401
Semester: Spring 2009

Not only can the information be tailored to students, but also how they student demonstrates that knowledge. Students could opt to write an essay or make a presentation or even a podcast to demonstrate what they have learned.

Conceptual Framework Reflection: It is one with a proactive nature that seeks to use a school's resources to facilitate learning. Technology resources within a school should be used to allow students to experience the curriculum in the rich format that is most often provided by the Internet. Virtual field trips are one example of how students can visit places that are inaccessible in the real world. Doing this requires planning and the drive to make sure the proper arrangements have been made inside the facility.
Artifact: Interview Media Specialist
Course: MEDT 8467
Semester: Spring 2009
Conceptual Framework Reflection: Being proactive is much better than being reactive. Meeting with technology facilitators and directors about how best to serve the student populations in terms of increasing technology literacy, should be something that is done proactively. We do not want our students to fall behind the rest of the world, in which case we would have to become reactive. It is always best to anticipate and do something to meet our goals now.
