Conceptual Framework Reflection: This assignment has required me to work collaboratively with our curriculum specialist and other teachers who are actively using the Study Island program. Collaboration skills are very important to the success of one's endeavors.
Artifact: Creation of Critical Thinking Activities
Course: MEDT 8480
Semester: Spring 2010
Conceptual Framework Reflection: This was one of many assignments that required working with others. In this case it was one other individual, but the truth is that the ability to work with others towards a common goal is truly an essential element to being successful.
Artifact: Using Google Docs
Course: MEDT 7462
Semester: Spring 2009
Conceptual Framework Reflection: New computing technologies allow levels of collaboration equivalent to being in the same room. In some instances they can actually be better. Considering Google Docs allows two people to simultaneously work on a document, which would be tricky with pencil and paper. If working with someone a great distance away, it is also much cheaper than a plane ticket across the country. Be it a wiki, a social networking site, or Google Docs, collaboration with peers, friends, and the community is becoming easier by the day. In completing this assignment on Google Docs we got to explore one of the many tools that make this true.
Artifact: Interview Stakeholders Project
Course: MEDT 8467
Semester: Spring 2009
Conceptual Framework Reflection: Before leading in the development of district level planning and implementation, I feel that to not have a solid understanding of the stakeholders would be tragic. While ultimately there will exist some form of monetary restraint, I would like to think that the students would be involved in the planning process. It is this collaboration between stakeholders at all levels that can result in the best decisions being made.
