Christianity
Christianity is the world’s largest religion.  More than one-third (two billion) of the world’s population describe themselves as Christians.  Half of them are Roman Catholic and of these about 500 million live in Central and South America.  The primary belief of Christians is that Jesus Christ is God’s son who was sent to Earth to die for all men’s sins.   Because Christians believe in missionary work the religion was able to spread and continues to spread throughout the world to this day.
