Proper Grooming for the Interview:

The simple truth is that appearance matters in a wide array of social and business settings.Your appearance establishes an impression in the eye of the beholder that can be difficult to change, especially if it's a negative one. Image consultants will tell you that more than half of another person's perception of you will be based on how you look.

Grooming for Women:

  • If you are wearing hose or tights, take a spare pair.
  • Keep jewelry to a minimum and wear nothing that makes a noise, like a charm bracelet.
  • Avoid perfumes with a strong smell.
  • Don't overdo it on the makeup. A light colored, natural look is best.
  • Avoid nail extensions, dark-colored nails, and nail art. A neutral nail color is best.
  • If you have long hair, do put your hair up.However, avoid elaborate hair accessories.

Attire for Men:

  • Avoid wearing nylon socks.
  • Trim nasal and ear hair.
  • Make sure you look clean shaven. If your interview is at the end otf the day, take a battery shaver with you to shave before the interview.
  • Wear cologne with a light smell. It is possible to become immune to the smell if you have had it on for a few hours.
  • Remove any piercings.
