 This is also called the Central Processing Unit  (CPU).  The CPU is the brain of the  computer.  It executes instructions and communicates  with devices via the data bus which a system of pathways used for  communicating. The two most common manufacturers of processors are Intel and  AMD.  Processors that are good for basic  home users are Celeron D by Intel and AMD Sempron.  For more graphic intense jobs, Core 2 Quad,  Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors are good.   In a business where there are servers, Intel  Xeon and Itanium 2 and AMD Opteron are good.   Processors help produce better speeds for handling jobs that are carried  out by your computer. |  |  |
