A magnetic disk that allows you to store data. This is also where the operating system is stored. It comes in various sizes measued in gigabytes and terabytes. There are two interfaces for connecting a hared drive to the motherboard: SATA (Serial ATA) and IDE (integrated Drive Electronic) cables.
