1. Watch this video for a better understanding of the benefits of online photo sharing:

2. Explore Flickr, the largest photo sharing site and one of the first websites to use tags. You can start with a tour or jump right in with a search.

3. Find an image to post to your blog. Be sure to check the copyright information before downloading any images. If there is an image you would like to use, but it is copyrighted "all rights reserved", you can try to contact the owner and ask for permission to use it.

If you’re sure you have permission, here are instructions for downloading photos.

4. Post the image to your blog and write about it. Why did you choose that image? What did you think about Flickr? What surprised you, and what did you find interesting or frustrating? What are some ways you could use photo sharing in the classroom?

5. Have some fun with Flickr mashups. Be sure to post your best creations to your blog.
