Aim/Purpose Statement
The purpose of these learning activities is t0 introduce teachers to a variety of web 2.0 tools and engage/encourage learners to use the tools in real-life activities so that the teachers will bring these tools and skills back to the classroom.

Rationale
A working knowledge of common web 2.0 tools is necessary for a technology-enriched classroom. These learning activities allow the users to explore the tools on their own time schedules, at their own pace, and use them in realistic activities. Using this method, the hope is that teachers will be more able and willing to transfer this knowledge and activities back to the classroom for use with students.

General Educational Goals
This web curriculum was created by an AV/IT Specialist, with the general goal being to provide a collection of resources and a guided walkthrough of the most basic tools and activities associated with web 2.0. The lessons are structured so that each activity can be completed all at once or in steps depending on the learner's available time. The lessons mix activities/materials that are professionally useful with activities/materials that are merely entertaining in order to gain and keep learners' interest.

Instructional Plan
This curriculum web is designed for independent usage to be completed at the user’s own pace (within reason, as noted below). The web quest may be completed at any time, but the learning activities should be completed in order (as listed in the navigation side bar) as the product of the first activity is necessary for the completion of subsequent activities. Depending on the number of learners, it is advisable to stagger groups and set reasonable limits of time for when all activities should be concluded, such as all kindergarten and 1st grade teachers starting on the first of the month and having 3 weeks to complete the activities, as so to allow the instructor enough notice and time to assess the products and offer assistance if needed.
Again, while the web was created for independent usage, learners may appreciate formal or informal face-to-face sessions to discuss the activities. In this circumstance, the instructor should attempt to schedule sessions at a variety of times to accommodate as many learners’s schedules as possible. Additional materials might include a computer and LCD projector, external speakers, an interactive white board or a regular whiteboard and marker for taking notes. Unless otherwise asked or learners’ responses indicate a need, the instructor should act more as a facilitator compared to a lecturer. Suggestions for guiding the discussion include asking learners to share their products, interesting resources or ideas for use. If learners express frustration or difficulties of use, the instructor should allow other learners to offer suggestions first.

Assessment Plan
Each of the three learning activities instructs learners to write reflections on the activity, and each activity results in a product (blog post with various media) that acts as embedded assessment. As learners are working at their own pace, the instructor can monitor progress in the blog posts and offer suggestions or assistance as needed or set up one-on-one tutorials.
