Subject:A noun or pronoun that is performing the verb; the "do-er" of a sentence. Who or what
the sentence is about.
Predicate: The verb that describes what the noun (subject) of the sentence is doing or being.
Example:
The cow jumped over the moon.
Subject: The cow
Predicate: jumped over the moon
The cats and dogs wanted a drink of water.
Simple subject: cats, dogs
Complete subject: The cats and dogs
Simple predicate: wanted (just the verb)
Complete predicate: wanted a drink of water
