Definitions:

Noun: A word that names a person, place, thing, feeling, idea, or act.

Proper Noun:
names a particular person (someone's name), place, or thing and begins with a capital letter.

Singular Noun:
refers to one person, place, or thing.

Plural Noun:
refers to two or more people, places, or things.

Adjective:
a word that modifies a noun. That means it describes a quality of a person, place, or thing.

Verb:
a word that describes action.

Adverb:
a word that describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb; often ends in "ly".

Examples:

Noun:
the store

Proper Noun:
Mrs. Turco, Publix

Singular Noun:
dog

Plural Noun:
friends

Adjective:
blue water, big fish

Verb:
chase, run, jump, write

Adverb:
dance wildly, run quickly
