Teacher Guide
Standards Addressed:
•    S5P2a Physical Changes: Investigate physical changes by separating mixtures and manipulating (cutting, tearing, folding) paper to demonstrate examples of physical change.

•    S5P2b States of Matter (Water): Recognize that the changes in state of water (water vapor/steam, liquid, ice) are due to temperature differences and are examples of physical change

•    S5P2c Chemical Changes: Investigate the properties of a substance before, during, and after a chemical reaction to find evidence of change.

Task:
•    Create a brochure to show your understanding of what the states of matter are, how they change and the difference between a physical and chemical change.
•    Pictures and diagrams must be included to help show understanding.

Blooms Skills Addressed:
•    Understanding: can the student explain ideas or concepts?
o    The student will show their understanding through the diagrams and explanations in their brochure.
•    Remembering: can the student recall or remember the information?
o    The student will write the information found on their brochure.
•    Applying: can the student use the information in a new way?
o    The student will apply what they have learned by showing how we find changes in states of matter and physical and checmical                        changes in our daily lives.
•    Creating: can the student create new product or point of view?
o    The student will create a brochure to show their understanding of the states of matter, how they change, and physical and chemical                  changes of matter.
•    Analyzing: can the student distinguish between the different parts?
o    The student will analyze the difference between physical and chemical changes.
