Biographies

Logan Arrington

Logan is an Undergraduate Student at the University of West Georgia, majoring in History with a minor in Secondary Education. After he graduates in the Fall of 2012, he plans on immediately seeking a Masters in History and either pursuing it full time or part time while teaching.

Jennifer Teeter

Jennifer is a graduate student at West Georgia. I am currently working on my masters thesis on the interpretation of Native American mound sites in the state of Georgia. My main interest is the use of digital technology in the realm of public history. As a part of my graduate work for this course I curated student work into this website.

Mary Walker

Mary, president of Xi Rho Chapter of the national honor society Phi Alpha Theta at the University of West Georgia and lifelong learner grew up in the United Kingdom where she learned to appreciate local history. She has benefitted diverse educational and career opportunities in nursing, professional writing and adult education since coming to the United States. A graduate student in the History Department her research includes the Chautauqua Movement and Gilded Age Atlanta and its environs. Walker is interested in digital history and preservation tourism.

Andrew Nuckolls

Andrew H. Nuckolls is a History Graduate student at the University of West Georgia from Rocky Face, Georgia. Mr. Nuckolls has both an Associate's of Arts degree from Dalton State College and a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of West Georgia in Political Science. Mr. Nuckolls's research industry include: Southern, industrial, technology, Georgia, and political history, and also Southern and Georgia politics.

Matt Weisenbecker

Matt is a Senior history student from Newnan, Georgia. His research interests include US legal history, Southern History, and Military History.

Ryan McAnally

Ryan is a junior at West Georgia. He is a history major with focus in early American history.

Mollie Marlow

Mollie is a second-year History major at UWG, and plans on continuing her education to Graduate School in order to pursue a career in Public History. She is currently an undergraduate research assistant with the UWG Center for Public History and is working on the New Harmonies music project.

Amanda Williams

Amanda is currently enrolled at the University of West Georgia and is majoring in French with a minor in Spanish. She is 21 years old and in her sophomore year of college. She works part time as a cake decorator at Kroger, but when she is not at work or school she is either hanging out with friends or studying for school. She loves to read all kinds of books, listen to music, and watch black and white movies.

Courtney Arndt

Courtney is currently a French and English Education major at the University of West Georgia. She is 20 years old and works at a local Chinese restaurant near her home, where she is learning Chinese a little bit at a time.

Erin Cox

Erin is 20 years old and currently a junior at the University of West Georgia. She is originally from Athens, Georgia.

Bonnie Hill

Bonnie is a fourth year history major, minoring in criminology with plans to attend law school after graduating from the University of West Georgia. Her main interests in history include ancient Egypt, Southern United States and World War II.

Bryan Boyette

Bryan holds a BA in History from Georgia State University. He hopes to begin work on his Master's Thesis at the University of West Georgia in the spring.

Phillip Hatcher

Phillip is from the great metropolis of Buies Creek, North Carolina. He currently resides in Marietta Georgia, but greatly desires to move away from this metropolis, which is bigger than the one from whence he came. He attended Campbell University and received a BA in history in 2002, and M.ed in 2007. Phillip spent 3 years teaching 9th and 12th graders, a humbling experience from which he learned exactly how unhip he is. Currently he is an MA student in the history department at West Georgia. He studies 20th century American History. When not occupied with graduate studies he enjoys coaching soccer, fly-fishing, reading, Johnny Cash and other artists from age of real country music, Elvis, the Beatles, punk rock, and of course spending time with his wife.

Joseph Emanuel

Joseph Emanuel is a graduating senior who will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor concentration in History. He has become particularly interested in the historical interrelation of religious and psychological phenomena, and plans to further pursue the academic study of history as a graduate.

Jennifer Randels

Jennifer is an undergraduate at the University of West Georgia. She aims to complete her degree in Anthropology by the summer of 2012 along with French and History as her minors. She has gone on a study abroad in France, and has plans to finish her degree at the Balkan Heritage Field School site of Heraclea Lyncestis during the summer of 2012 as well as repeat the French study abroad program. She will present in a panel at the Georgia Association of Historians Annual Conference on Roman virtus at the 2012 Conference. Her interests are in Ancient Middle Eastern history between the 16th century BC and the 11th century BC, with backgrounds in Greek and Roman history.
