What is an ecosystem?

An ecosystem is made up of all living and nonliving things that interact in an area. All of these things depend on each other, and if one is missing, the whole ecosystem is affected. Some of the organisms exist to create food or to be food. Some exist to change the food to another form, and some exist to eat the others! This section of the website will help you understand how they all work together to cause life to continue.
