Task!

You will break up into 5 groups of 4, and choose one of the New Deal Alphabet Soup Agencies to research.

1. Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

2. Civilian Works Administration (CWA)

3. National Youth Administration (NYA)

4. Rural Electrification Administration (REA)

5. Works Progress Administration (WPA)

Using the internet and library resources you will compile information on your agency to present to the class. One group member will be a historian reporting on the history of the organization, giving details on its inception and growth during the 1930's. Another group member will be a modern reporter tracing the affect of the organization on the country today. One member will be the artist, and provide the original and modern logo for the agency (if there is one, and if not they will create a new one that represents how it might look today). The fourth member will be the speaker for the group, and present a summary of the group's research to the class. Be sure to include facts that you find interesting and out of the ordinary. This is meant to be both educational and fun!
