Course Syllabus

2015-2016

This is the second course in a sequence of courses designed to provide students with a rigorous program of study in mathematics. Instruction and assessment will include the appropriate use of manipulatives and technology. Topics will be represented in multiple ways, such as concrete/pictorial, verbal/written, numeric/data-case, graphical and symbolic.

SEMESTER GRADES AND EVALUATIONS: Nine weeks and semester grades are calculated as percentages using a scale of: 90% = A, 80% = B, 70% = C, 60%= D, 59% and below = F.

15% Classwork/Discussion Posts

LATE WORK: Students are expected to turn their class work in on the due date. Work turned in after the due date will be marked down 50% off the score they receive. I will not accept any assignments turned in a week late. Students are always free to discuss with me the reason their class work is late; if they do this when the assignment was originally due, then the late penalty may not be applied. WARNING: No late work is accepted the last week of the quarter.
