Picasa

Picasa software is an easy way to view, edit, and organize your photos on your own computer.  Viewing photos through Picasa is as simple as connecting your camera to your computer and downloading the free Picasa software.  Editing photos is very easy with Picasa.  People who wish to do more advanced editing can even use Piknik which is linked from Picasa.  In Piknik users can crop, straighten, remove redeye, auto correct for contrast and color, and even more advanced editing tools for a fee.  Your original photographs are always preserved, so when you edit you do not need to worry that you are making changes that will ruin your original picture.  You can even make a Face Movie out of your portraits which is a slideshow with transitions, music and captions.  Sharing photos is simple with Picasa.  When you sign in to your Picasa account, you will see a My Photos tab which includes all the albums that you have created.  If you click on public or unlisted gallery, you can find the URL of the page that will allow friends and family to view all of your public and unlisted albums in one place.  In a school setting, teachers can download pictures and create private albums that only the parents of the students can view.  This can be a very safe and easy way to share photographs with parents of students.   Other ways to share your albums are by posting a link to social networks.  Picasa is a free, online tool that can help anyone view, edit, and organize their photos.
