Most Interesting:

The absolute most interesting thing about this assignment was finding out that I am 7696 days old. I also found it extremely interesting that the day Paul Revere began his ride to warn people that the British were coming was on my birthday in 1775. I found a lot out about what was going on in the world when I was too young to understand anything except I am hungry and I want my mom and dad to hold me.

Personal Statistics:

My name is Katie, which is from the Greek word “pure.” I am the youngest child of two born in a hospital in the small town of Fairburn, Georgia. I lived there for fifteen years until we needed to move to more acreage for my four beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses. That found us packing up and moving into the suburbs of Atlanta. We live on eighteen acres now and have a lake and plenty of horseback riding space.

I am currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of West Georgia. I am in the PDS Cohort program, which is new to the University. In this program I get a lot more hands on experience in the classroom and I will even get to experience teacher’s pre-planning and the first day of school.

I am very excited that in 215 days I will marry the love of my life in my hometown of Fairburn, Georgia.

Summary:

I was amazed at all of the interesting things that happened on my birthday in the past. This assignment helped me learn about websites to use in my classroom for interesting topics to discuss with my students. This will also be great to show my students so they can get an idea of time. I can show them what was going on in 1986 and then show them how things have changed to the current year.
