Technology Report
There is a lot technology being used at Peachtree City Elementary School, in Fayette County. In the class that I was place in there are three computers, an overhead projector, and a television. The computers are used daily, by the students, for accelerated reader tests and for educational games during center time. The over head projector is used during math at least once a week. It is used by the teacher to place math problems on it for the students to solve on their individual white boards so that they are not always doing worksheets. The television is used every morning for the morning announcements which is broadcasted from the library and the classroom clock is displayed of the television the entire day. Outside of our classroom the students also interacted with a lot of technology. Everyday they went to specials and one of the specials they would go to is computers. While in the computer lap the students would be lead through projects on programs such as Kid Pix and The Graph Club. They would use these programs to make graphs and different pictures that represent the seasons of the year, families, and holidays. There were also computers in the media center which they would use to look up books. There was also a second computer lab in the school called the Success Maker Lab. In this lab the students would work on the Success Maker Program which is a program that allows then to work at their own pace and level. If a student excels in one particular area then the program will move them on to more challenging things, but is a student is weak in an area then the program keeps them on that area until they master it.
