Introduction
The United States has just learned that a group of aliens from a distant planet will be visiting Earth soon. Don’t worry…they’re friendly! Since you and your team are experts on animal classification, the President has asked you to create a guide for the visitors so that they can learn more about the animals on our planet.
Task
Using Glogster, you should create a presentation that will help the aliens learn how animals are classified according to their different characteristics. You will explain the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates and provide examples of each one. You will also describe the five phyla (groups) of vertebrates: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. Include examples and pictures to help the aliens understand how animals on Earth are similar and different.
Process
Visit the sites below to gather information about animal classification. Begin thinking about how you can organize your glog and which animals would make the best examples.
Next, log in to Glogster and begin creating your glog. Be sure to describe how vertebrates and invertebrates are different and give at least two examples of each. Also, explain how scientists classify vertebrates as mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. Include at least an example of each of these as well. Use pictures to make your glog more interesting and easier to understand.
