George Campbell Jr.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, I am the oldest of five siblings, two sisters and two younger brothers. I attended Ann Arbor public schools and graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High. My interests were music first and then sports. I played Little League baseball from age seven until the age of 13, which was the age at which pitching over hand was allowed.  Music was my first passion so at seven years of age I took guitar lessons and entered in my school's talent show where I came in third place. Throughout my entire life I have always loved playing and listening to music.  Most of my time today is focused on listening to music instead of playing it.

After graduating from high school, I enrolled in the local community college with the aspiration of gaining a degree in public administration. After the first two semesters the public administration program was terminated, which left me with having to choose another program. During the summer break I took an internship job working in the Washtenaw County Office of the Water Resource Commission as an assistant to the office secretary.  I was assigned the tasks of updating old (release of right-of-ways) files and creating  a new file storage system. After working at this task for several  months, I was asked to assist the inspectors in the field by writing daily reports.  Doing this  task allowed me to better understand the processes and procedures that were under the jurisdiction of the Water Resource Commission. After the internship was over that summer, I was offered full time employment with the Commission as an inspector. Twenty two years later, I decided to return to school and finish what I started at the local community college, which was to re-invent myself, obtain a business degree and own and operate a successful business. I have some specifics of what and how my ideal business will be managed and I am on the trek of acquiring the needed knowledge and support.

I recently obtained a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources and Organizational Development (MSHR/OD)  from  Eastern Michigan University College of Business after completing a BA in Entrepreneurship. I am presently enrolled in the Business Education masters program at the University of West Georgia with aspirations to complete the doctor of education program in leadership with focus on organizational development at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. I have completed four courses in the Business Education program at the University of West Georgia and feel that I have learned a lot about the level of skills needed to becoming an effective instructor. I am taking two courses this semester.
