Activity B-1
M
easure the sides of "fun-sized" and "regular sized" candy bars. Create a small poster (1/4 - 1/2 sheet of poster board) that displays your findings and your ratios comparing the side lengths. Are the two candy bars similar? Make sure that the poster includes the ratios that clearly demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of similar figures. Your poster should be colorful and neat.

magine that you are the teacher and are teaching your classmates how to identify corresponding parts of similar figures. Create a poster or PowerPoint explaining this skill. If you choose to make a PowerPoint, your PowerPoint should be at least 3 slides. Take advantage of all of the great components of PowerPoint - backgrounds, transitions, animations, etc. If you create a poster, make sure that it is colorful and neat and provides diagrams where needed.

rite a song that will help your classmates remember key information from this unit.

As you are writing your song, remember back to our songs in class: Mean, Median, Mode and Adding Integers. Both were to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." You may want to make your song go along with a current song, rather than a children's song. Whether you choose to use an old or new song, your song should have a tune that most people would recognize. For another example, please view the following video for an example of an "Order of Operations" song, to the tune of the song "Umbrella."
