Introduction
The end of World War II marked a significant period of time for race relations in the United States.  Although units were segregated, both black and white soldiers fought and many lost their lives in the war.  However, many black veteran soldiers resented the fact that their quality of life was unequal to their white counterparts as they returned to their communities following the war.  This brought more unity and organization to the black community.  Like other states, most of Georgia’s white population was not in agreement with ending life as they had known it.  However, the 1950s presented an opportunity for blacks and some whites to eliminate the barriers of racial prejudice and promote equal opportunity for all individuals.  This organized effort became the framework for the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s through the 1970s.

Task
You and a partner have been hired by a local museum’s director that wants to expand and include an exhibit that recognizes the Civil Rights Movement from a Georgia perspective.  The director did not put any stipulations as to what is to be included in the information that is submitted.  The museum’s director is not as familiar as you with some of the influential individual, historical movements, and key organizations developed during this period.  Using Glogster, you will create a Glog that outlines the path of an influential individual, a historical movement, or a key organization developed as a result of the Civil Rights Movement.  This information in the Glog will provide the museum with relevant information to include in the exhibit.

Process
In addition to the assigned reading of chapter 20 in your textbook, please explore the sites below to collect information about the Civil Rights Movement.  You are not limited to which aspect of the Civil Rights Movement you want to research.
