Introduction
You are an art student living in Madrid, Spain. You need to prepare for a visit from your friends, who are also art students, in the States. You need to research the art museums you are going to take your guests to tour while they are visiting. You need to research 2 classical and 2 modern artists you think they would enjoy seeing while they are in Madrid. You will prepare the tour, and create a presentation to show them when they arrive in town, which includes highlights of the things they are going to see.

Task
Your group will choose one of the following to create for your presentation: a power point, or a poster. The presentation should show all of the wonderful art pieces they will see while they are on their tour. In addition to exploring the art available to see, you need to pick 2 artists to highlight: one modern artist and one classical artist.

Process

To become familiar with art available in museums in Madrid, please visit the following websites, one for the Reina Sofia and one for El Museo Prado. For each museum, make a list of a minimum of 8 pieces of art from these museums. The websites are in Spanish, so to get started browse the colecciones.

Out of the 2 museums, pick one artist you would like to highlight for the group. Include the following information about the artist:

  1. What country are they from?

  2. What type of art are they most famous for?

  3. What is their most famous works?

  4. Give a brief biography of the artist.

  5. Include any interesting or important information about the artist that you think your friends would like to know.
