My wife had a head injury in July 1994 then a myelogram on January 3, 1995. Three times during the myelogram the needle was removed and repositioned, hitting the sciatic nerve several times.
She stayed in bed with major headaches, noise and light sensitivity on the 3rd and 4th. January 5th, she went to the ER and was told to go home, stay in bed; some people's headaches last longer than others.
On January 6th, the doctor tried to explain away the problem as having nothing to do with the myelogram, but was flu-like, possible a head cold.
She was allowed to see a radiologist on January 7th. From across the room, he told her it was highly unlikely that the headaches were myelogram related. He was basically not interested.
On January 9th, she collapsed in the ER. They did a CAT scan and found she had an aneurysm. She was operated January 11, 1995, and developed blood clots in February.
We have been told that the aneurysm was probable caused from a sneeze, but not the myelogram. There is no family history of aneurysms, but there was a head injury in July 1994. She had a CAT scan in 1980's, so we know it did not exist then.
We don't know weather the head injury, myelogram, or its after effects, cause the aneurysm, but doubt that a sneeze did it. If anyone has similar situations, or information that can help, please let me know.
