Renal Artery Aneurysm

I just learned that I have a renal artery aneurysm that approximately 3.8 centimeters. Surgery is usually done at 2 centimers for this small artery. It is eliptical (egg shaped) with three small branches going out of the aneurysm.

No physician in the Beaumont, Texas medical complex has seen one like it or is qualified to repair it The cardiologist who did the arteriogram thinks the surgery will have to be done "ex vivo", by taking my kidney out , repairing the aneurysm, and then putting my kidney back in. He does not think think that any of the new stint procedures will work.

It looks as if I'm going to Mayo Clinic in Rochester for an evaluation with Dr. Kenneth Cherry. I have been told that this a rare aneurysm, and I must have an experienced team.

Does anyone know any information that would be helpful to me. I thought perhaps there was a surgeon in the Houston area, but the cardiologist who is researching this for me has had no responses from Houston.

Please pray for me. I have a disabled daughter and a husband who is a busy pastor who need me around for awhile.
