A Look From The Feminine Side

This is a story I felt I had to share with other men and women (especially women since they are often told they might not be candidates) for envascular surgery. I have had an aneurysm since 1995 discovered during a heart cath after a minor stroke. The aneurysm has been monitored every 6 months since that day it was discovered by my cardiologist, Dr. Greenberg. At present, I am retired and not a spring chicken by any means. I was told by my General Practitioner to go to a local MD and check into our little county hospital and have the "open chest" surgery to repair my abdominal aortic aneurysm.

After looking at this site and reading all the letters, I decided to talk to my friends and find the right route to go. My dear friend drove me to Orlando and I met with Dr. Kendrick Adcock, a Vascular Surgeon and a super guy. Can you believe a doctor that is ethical, honest and kind all at the same time. Well, that is Dr. Adcock. He scheduled my surgery for November 17th, 2000 and I was home on November 18th in the evening. My children took care of me for the weekend and then I was on my own. A little limpy but ok.

My stitches were taken out yesterday - Nov, 27th and I feel like such a load has been lifted off my shoulders. Anyone who has an aneurysm should talk to their physician about Endovascular Surgery and if you live in Florida, look up Dr. Kendrick Adcock, A real special person as well as an excellent physician. If you would like to write to me with any questions, I'll be glad to answer you.
