Mother was 80 and a heart patient She had Arteriosclerotic, GERD and COPD. I had her for 64 days, rescued her from her home in another town who did not admit her for her complaints, but allowed her to go home, so we took her and brought her to my home town for hospital admittance and she was for pneumonia. Next, with continual abdominal pain after discharge I took her 3 more times to emergency for her to have someone look and see why she is so sick again. No one treated her as we felt it should have been. They say, no infection, no admit!
Now she sees a new primary, does intake and x-ray of tailbone for her pain. He will do a 2 week follow-up is all. Mother had diarrhea, swallowing problem, weight loss and this pain still.
I had mother admitted finally, when they saw that she had a UTI. Now she still has abdominal pain, even thru this UTI. It seemed separate than a UTI to us. Nothing was done, just had her on a light liquid diet to survive. Her heart is acting up, she seems to be really getting worse now to us. Hospital does discharge to a nursing home, still with all of the complaints going on.
Mother was in there for 19 days starving to death. Staff removed her new primary for negligence and got their residential doctor to tend to mother. He orders a new pill to help her eat by day 12! Her life is already compromised. By day 18 this doctor wants a POA to tube feed her, come on, why so late in the game? Why not back at the hospital? Well, if no ones cares for her, she wanted out to die at home now and we took her out, she lived for 5 more days and died.
I had an autopsy done and he said it was an iliac aneurysm that killed her, the seat of death! (was 2.5cm) Why did they not do an ultrasound test to find this in 64 days? Why not back home in her town with her primary find this? How long could this have been there, or was it just spontaneous!!
