Muscle Tension Headaches

4 February 2005

I was on a work related trip to Texas with three other co-workers. As soon as we landed The right side of my head hurt so bad didn't know what was going on. Thought it was just from the cold i had.

We were down there for 10 day's on the last day I was out of it slept all day in the van no one could wake me up. They got me on the plane and we flew home I don't remember much.

When we returned my sister took me to emergency. They diagnosed me with muscle tension headaches and gave me muscle relaxers. Two day's went by and my boyfriend woke me up and told me I had a stroke he was taking me to the hospital.

They didn't believe him cause I was only 30. He wasn't leaving so they did a CT scan and MRI found a intracranial aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage. I was taken by ambulance to Saint Mary's hospital in Rochester Minnesota, where they did a new coiling procedure. With support from family and friends i survived.

I still have bad headaches depression and weakness on the left side, and I now get seizures. I've returned to work but it is hard. I feel lucky to have gotten a second chance.

Addendum: 6 February 2005

My coiling procedure was done on May 5, 2004. I feel like Iv'e overcome a lot since then.

I was lucky enough to have a boyfriend to take care of me so they realeased me under his supervision . I'm doing a lot better but it feels like the headaches never stop and I'm always tired. I take a lot of medications. I have a appointment with the nuerosurgeon for my seizures on Feb 15. Since my bleed Iv'e had 2 cat scans and they say everything looks good, but i'm still scared that it will happen again.

I'm very happy to have found this site. They had me seeing a counselor for a while but this is more helpful to me. Reading other peoples stories that have been through it. Before this I never knew what an anuerism was.
