He Was The Best

19 January 2004

I just lost my father to AAA on January 4 of this year (2004). He was in the hospital for over 24 hours and nothing was done except they said he was as comfortable as they can make him and he was now in no pain.

I did find out that my grandfather also past away from AAA and two of my uncles also had it but have had the surgery and are doing very well. It's unfortunate that my father did not make myself or my family aware of this.

My father was only 68 years old and was the rock in my life. he was always there for me and now I dont know how I'm going to make it without him. I don't understand why didnt they even try to save him.

I have read many letters written by may of you. Some even had ruptured aortae. My father collapsed in his bathroom and was rushed to the hospital. His aorta was leaking. they said no matter what they did that he was going to die.

I dont feel that they even gave him a chance. My father made it to Chino Community hospital and they then in turn transferred him to Loma Linda hospital. My father survived and was still alive. Then they just let him pass away without surgery or anything. They took my father off the breathing machine and he still survived for another 30-45 minutes before he finally past away. I feel that if given the chance my father would have survived. I think he was desperatly trying and no one did anything to help.

I will always love and miss this strong willed man. he was the best.
