February 5, 2000
I woke up that morning to find my daddy lying unconscious on the back porch suffering from hypothermia. He was transported to the emergency room in the next town. When the doctor looked at him, he thought he had a stroke. So, he transferred him to the Brackenridge hospital in austin, texas to undergo some brain tests.
That is when we found out that his stroke was actually an aneurysm that had ruptured in his brain. He was in a coma for about 6 weeks before finally passing on March 18,2000, leaving me and my three brothers alone.
I have never gotten over that traumatic loss and I doubt I ever will.
Daddy, I love you so much and miss you everyday. This is for you:
God looked around his garden and saw an empty space.
He then looked down upon this earth and saw my daddy's tired face.
So god put his arms around him and lifted him to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.
God knew that my daddy would never get well upon this earth again.
He saw the roads getting rough and the hills harder to climb,
so he closed my daddy's eyelids and whispered in his ear,
"peace be thine".
It broke my heart to lose him,
but he did not go alone,
for part of me went with him the day God called him home.
