My Fiancé and His Death of AVM

29 December 2004

December 14th, 2004, I had just arrived home from work around 5:30 pm. I went to my fiancé house, which is just five houses from my house. I walked into the house and all the lights were off. There was no TV on. He loved TV and always had it on.

I found out later that he had came home early from work with a really bad headache. It must have been bad because he did not even call me to let me know, he always called me several times a day at work. He must have came in and took some medicine and lay down.

When I made it through to his bedroom I turned on the light and found him there with a lot of blood pouring from his mouth. Later the Dr. told us that he had a seizure and chewed his tongue.

I started screaming and crying, I called 911 and waited for the ambulance to get there. He never was conscious. When we got to the hospital the Dr finally came in and told me that he had a brain bleed and he would not make it. He stayed on life support from around 6:00 pm that night. The next morning he was pronounced brain dead. Exactly 24 hours later we turned off the respirator.

I miss him so badly and this website has helped me understand this better and has given me some sort of connection with others who have gone through this. It has only been two weeks today and I am having a hard time. I miss him very much.
