My Fears Were True

I am a 26-year-old female and I learned in January this year that I would have to have open heart surgery. On a normal routine check-up with my cardiologist, (I was born with a heart murmur) he found a slight aneurysm on my ascending aorta, involving the heart valve. They sent me a specialist and my fears were true - I needed surgery.

I have been scheduled for surgery twice and each time the doctor always cancels it because he wants a "second opinion". Every time I have a "second opinion" they all say the same that open heart surgery is the best way to fix my heart. Now, I will have my surgery in September this year. They are to fix my aneurysm and replace my aorta valve with a mechanical valve.

I just want to get through this surgery safely and concentrate on the next chapter of my life - having a family. I got married last year and my husband and I are wanting a family real bad. Hopefully if everything goes the way it should, I will be having a family in the near future.

So, please keep me in your prayers because the next few months are going to be very emotional for me and my family. Thank you.
