Google Wiki
Google Wikis can be used by teachers to create a class web site where viewers have access to only view the information, or to create group projects where people can collaborate on projects. The sites are easily made using templates or can be custom designed. Google Wikis can be modified to include many aspects including annoucements, calendars, reading lists, useful links, classroom photos, and Google forms.
Google Wikis have many features that make them user friendly. An interesting feature that stood out to me with the Google Wiki was the ability to add a Picaso photo album. I take numerous photographs during my school year, and it can be a challenge to send them to parents. This could be a time-saving way for parents to get a peak into my classroom by looking at pictures of our day. Other features that I liked was the ease of customizing the wiki, and the ability to allow viewers to either view without the ability to make changes or with the ability to make changes. Revisions are very easy to keep track of by using the revision history tab. Google Wikis are an excellent way to share information easily with others.
