Activity #2 - Measuring the Speed of Sound

Speed of Sound Video

Take notes while watching the video.

Determine within your group who will do the following tasks.

Surveyor - Uses the distance measuring device to measure the distance from each location to the wall.
Noisemaker - Makes the sharp noise that bounces off the wall.
Data recorder - Records all information onto the Speed of Sound data sheet.
Audio recorder - Uses the audio recording device to record the sounds.

Your classroom teacher will provide you with equipment and directions where and when you are to complete this activity.
