Montevideo was the host of the first Soccer World Cup in 1930. In the picture you can see the Centenary Stadium where the World Cup took Place, "Estadio Centenario". In the first World Cup Uruguay was proclaimed Champion and U.S.A made third place. Read more

Montevideo has a beautiful sidewalk next to the River Plate. The River Plate is the widest River in the World; it is about 30 miles wide. It is so wide that is considered a "sea". In spring and summer the boardwalk is full of people jogging and exercising. And of course the beach gets super crowded.

The weather is the pretty much the same as Georgia. The big difference is that Uruguay is at the Southern Hemisphere, therefore seasons are opposites.
