About

For me, photography provides a way to see the world in different perception. Whenever I get behind a camera it captivates me, it opens my eyes, I began to see the world in a way I have never seen it before. People no longer see the sparkle on what has become dull from familiarity. I use photography as a way to inspire a new understanding and awareness to a familiar context. I like to study the everyday world we live in, the things that can sometimes go unnoticed.

My photography is primarily concerned with the modern landscape, streetscapes, architecture, and common life. I’m interested in man’s relationship with the elements that shape our world. The way modern products start to become part of the traditional landscape, as if it was always there. Growing up in an area where within an hour drive you can go from a large city, to the suburbs, to the country, plays a strong influence to my work. I want my photographs to represent how the modern landscape can change depending on location. The way one location can be reaching for the future while another is reaching for the past. How the landscape begins to act as a self-portrait of the people that inhabit it.
