Introduction

Welcome to the M7G3: Geometry Curriculum Web. Through the completion of the activities, you will learn all about similarity and congruence. The activities are sorted into three areas - Area A, Area B, and Area C. You will navigate through the activities on these pages and complete a total of 6 assignments plus a Word Problem WebQuest

Once you have completed these assignments, you will be a master of the following standard:
M7G3. Students will use the properties of similarity and apply these concepts to geometric figures.
a. Understand the meaning of similarity, visually compare geometric figures for similarity, and describe similarities by listing corresponding parts.
b. Understand the relationships among scale factors, length ratios, and area ratios between similar figures. Use scale factors, length ratios, and area ratios to
determine side lengths and areas of similar geometric figures.
c. Understand congruence of geometric figures as a special case of similarity: The figures have the same size and shape.

Your Task...

First, you will need to complete a Word Problem WebQuest, by clicking here: Weeding Through the Words to Find the Math. You will work with a group assigned by your teacher.

Then, you will look over the assignments on Activity Pages A, B, and C and select two assignments per page that appeal to you as a learner. You must then have them approved by your teacher. She may not approve your choices, and you will have to go back and make some changes. As you are making your selections, please read carefully and understand what is expected of you. You will not be permitted to change your mind because you decide that it is "too hard." In addition, please review the rubrics that demonstrate how you will be graded on the assignments.

Your grade will be determined by the total amount of points that you receive after completing your assignments. Your teacher will tell you when your assignments are due, so it is important to make sure that you turn your assignments in on time.

Clicking on the Content Map will show you a brief description of each assignment included within the three activity pages. However, please click on the individual page links at the top to see the assignments designated to each page.
